The split screen or multi window feature is not new, but to MIUI 9, it definitely is new and people even though might not be knowing too much about it yet, so that’s why we are providing a brief tutorial of how to do it.
How to enable apps in split screen in miui 9:
First of all, tap on the Recent apps button.
Now, tap on Split Screen which you can find in the left corner of your recent apps menu.
Now, from the recents, drag any app which you want to open in split screen.
Tap on the next app which you want to open in the split screen.
That’s it. Now you will be able to use all your favorite apps at once, something like shown below.
How to exit split screen in miui 9:
Now comes the second part, where you want to exit the split screen in miui 9. For that, all you need to do is click on Close or Exit which would be shown at the top of the split screen, and you will see that the split screen option would be closed and you would be using your device back to normal.
