Just after wrapping up the Thanksgiving day, HTC is wishing all its users a happy thanksgiving day by releasing something all the HTC 10 users have been dreaming for. Yes, the Android Nougat 7.0 is on the way for the users. Read the post here.
Now talking about the update, let us begin on what we have gotten our hands on so far.
Firstly talking about the size of this update, it is about 1.11GB in total that introduces Anddroid Nougat 7.0 in your HTC10 devices. It is probably the most significant update after Android Marshmallow for the HTC10 devices. Talking about its availability, the update has not yet officially been released which means that only unlocked devices from the US are able to access this update so far and unfortunately, there has been no word from the company about releasing the update in other countries for other devices yet.
To confirm for you, the update that is coming is Android 7.0 and NOT the Android 7.1 and this means that the latest Android upgrade is still in development and you won’t be able to access it just yet.

The update contains security patches up to November 1, but the patch level for November 1 is partial only. No matter what the update contains, the HTC 10 users may certainly be missing out some of the features that Android 7.1 is upto with and we too cannot get a confirmation about whether the Android 7.1 update would be releasing or not for the HTC 10.
We still have gathered you some screenshots which will show you how the update looks on the HTC 10. Here they are.
The Nougat feel and look extends onto the Notification Panel and the Quick Toggles as some of them are provided in the screenshots. Not only is the app switching experience is improved but also some additional tweaks have been done like double tapping on the ‘recents’ button switches to the last used app instead of just going back into the original one as taht of the previous updates. Other major developments in this update are that the night Mode comes shown by default on HTC’s minimalistic skin and now you do not need any additional apps to enable or toggle it. Even the heads up notification has been slightly changed.
Now let’s come to the ending part-the bugs. Now as it is not an official update so we received reports that the Weather Clock widget breaks on the Google Now Launcher yet it works fine on the Sense launcher in the HTC 10.
The HTC One M9 and the HTC One A9 are supposed to be the next devices to receive the Nougat update. After the launch of company’s One A9 smartphone, HTC claimed that the unlocked version of the smartphone will get every Android update within 15 days but unfortunately the company wasn’t able to fulfill this promise.
Let us hope that the company acts fast in releasing the updates overseas for these devices so that every user gets to enjoy it!
