Just after some months of releasing the Android Nougat 7.1.1 update for the Pixel and Nexus devices, Google has already begun taking steps forward and just with that, Google launches Android 7.1.2 developer preview for the compatible Pixel and Nexus devices.
The update is currently the latest from Google. The company is also rolling out the beta version of this update to eligible devices which are already enrolled in the Android Beta Program. Google also claims that the new update is prioritised on fixing a number of bugs and also brings some heathy optimisations.
As per Dave Burke Android 7.1.2 is an incremental maintenance release focused on refinements, so it includes a number of bugfixes and optimizations, along with a small number of enhancements for carriers and users.
There may not be much of the things known but it’s sure that some changes are visible. Starting with the changes, we have known that the dialer has now leads to a multimedia call, bluetooth has literally been improved and there are a few Verizon-specific things like a demo mode and a new high temperature warning may be coming along too. This probably has something to do with Daydream VR mode in the Pixel devices.
The latest Android 7.1.2 Nougat update will be initially available to
- Pixel and Pixel XL
- Nexus 5X
- Nexus Player
- Pixel C
However, the company has confirmed that an update for Nexus 6P can be expected to be released soon.
