This blog so far has discussed a lot about the Google Assistant and the related stuff that we always have known about. Google Assistant is really one new yet great innovation in the modern tech and just recently, the news flashed that Google Assistant is coming for Google TV.

Google Assistant

You might have used Google Assistant for a pretty long time and by now, you might be knowing that it’s a very useful and beneficial app for the Android users at least. One kind of a replacement for Google Now has been the Google Assistant but we’re sure that many people among us still don’t own the phones that run the Google Assistant.

Also, many are still waiting for Google to bring the new service to their device, and they’re now making some progress with this. However, we still aren’t seeing official support for it on non-Pixel Android smartphones, but Google has announced it will be coming to a number of different platforms throughout the new year.

But one of the best news is on the way today for us as all Android TV devices in the United States running Android 6.0 Marshmallow or 7.0 Nougat will soon get an update that adds Google Assistant support. This is especially tempting, isn’t it but given that, at the moment, Assistant is limited to a limited amount of expensive Google-made products like the Google Home and the Pixel smartphones.

Google also gave an unofficial (kind of a demo) list of Android TV devices that will receive the update which include the NVIDIA Shield Android TV, AirTV Player, Sharp Aquos, Sony Bravia, and Xiaomi Mi Box, but there are more devices that will get Google Assistant.

With the voice commands, you can instruct your Android TV as “Play House of Cards on Netflix,” or “Search YouTube for Amanda Cerny.” This version of Google Assistant will also be able to do Google web searches which include everything you want to search about over the internet.

You’ll even be able to control your connected devices that are supported by Google Assistant, so you can say anything to the connected devices which is supposed to be a great feature.

One more thing is that you’ll also see the Assistant come to other new surfaces, like smartwatches running Android Wear 2.0, Android powered in-car infotainment systems and many other types of devices through the Embedded Google Assistant SDK.
