Netflix introduces Offline Downloads for Mobile Devices

For all the users of Netflix, we have a very good news. Netflix is introducing a new feature-the offline downloads for mobile devices. Netflix users just need to prepare their devices now to download the update of the app.

With Netflix, you can watch as many movies and TV show episodes as you want. And there’s no need to wait for a theater to post a show time, release a movie, a renter to have a physical copy in stock, or a channel to air the next episode. As long as a movie or show is available on Netflix, you can watch it whenever you want. And forget about all the big amount of money you were paying. It just costs you a little.

Netflix is a website that allows you to watch movies and television shows whenever you want and as often as you want. A monthly subscription gives you access to all shows available on Netflix that are available for your country, which you can watch on your computer, mobile device, smart TV, or other digital media player. Actually Netflix is a streaming Website where you can watch your favorite shows online without actually having to wait to download them.

But let’s turn the tables over because Netflix had something to do that its users demanded-to introduce the download feature. You may have seen the same feature in many of the apps like Amazon Prime Videos, Starz or even YouTube Red, which are the competitors of Netflix as these apps let you download video content on a mobile device so that its users can play their favorite media back at a later time when they are without Internet access. Netflix eventually resisted introducing the offline feature but having noticed that the internet isn’t literally available in every part of the world, they have decided to roll out this feature.

And thus, the company launched an offline playback feature but it is only available for select markets. Still, yesterday Netflix company officially launched its offline viewing feature GLOBALLY for Android and iOS smartphones and tablets which means that you can get access to Netflix’s offline download feature too.

Now, LET’S COME TO THE REQUIREMENTS PART. If you run Netflix in iOS, then you will at least need version 8.0 or higher. And when it comes to Android users, they should at least have Android KitKat 4.4.2 or higher to enjoy the downloading feature of Netflix. Now as long as you run these versions in your phones, you can easily access the Netflix downloading feature. You just have to locate the downloading button at the end of any media item you visit in Netflix. Something like this:

Still for your general knowledge, not every title on the service doesn’t supports offline playback quite yet. However more movies and TV shows have been claimed to support offline playback very soon by Netflix. Still, you can download many of the most popular shows such as Orange Is the New Black, Narcos, House of Cards, Stranger Things, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Master of None, and The Crown right now.

Next Wednesday, other titles like Breaking Bad, Supernatural, The Office, The Flash, Minions, Kung Fu Panda 3, and Home will be made available with more TV series expected to release very soon. What Netflix says that is that you need to update your Netflix app to the most recent version suitable for your device and the platform it is running.
