We recently came across the all new Redmi 3S launched by Xiaomi which has already hit the markets and is available to purchase online in India too. Xiaomi undoubtedly has been credited for its quality and the type of features it comes up with. Some latest devices include the Mi Note 2 and a great type of hardware, the bendable display from Xiaomi.
And yet again, Xiaomi unveils one of the most awaited device, the Redmi 4, Redmi 4A and the Redmi 4 Prime(a.k.a Redmi 4 Pro). Firstly, these variants are claimed to be budget smartphones that would be performing their best whenever needed. The Redmi 4 will be available from Monday, 7th of November while as the Redmi 4 Prime will launch officially on 11th of November. Talking about the cost of these smartphones, the Redmi 4 would be available for CNY 699 (around Rs. 6990) while as the Redmi 4 Prime would be available at CNY 899 (around Rs. 8990).
The devices vary in some aspects but let’s first discuss the similarities that these devices have. These smartphones come with identical body designs, 2.5D curved glass displays, dual sim slots and a fingerprint scanner at the back of the phones (only except for Redmi 4A).
The Redmi 4/Prime comes with a 5 inch 1080p display that is actually more better than the 720p display in the previous Redmi 3 and actually than the Redmi 4A variants that sports a 720p display.
RAM and internal storage
The Redmi 4/Prime would be coming with a 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which is more than the other variants, the Redmi 4A has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Yet the storage is expandable to 128GB via a microSD card.
Talking about the processor, the Redmi 4/Prime is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC clocked at 1.4GHz coupled with the Adreno 505 GPU while as the Redmi 4A is a quad-core Snapdragon 425 one clocked at 1.4Ghz, and the GPU is Adreno 308 clocked at 500MHz.
The camera for both these variants is the same. The front camera sports a 5MP Camera while as the rear camera is 13MP with a dual LED flash.
The battery for Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime remains the same as that of the Redmi 3 versions. The battery is 4100 mAh but for Redmi 4A, the battery is 3120 mAh.
Talking about the Operating systems, the devices feature MIUI8 with Android Marshmallow 6.0. However, the other variants are expected a Nougat update with the due course of time.

So this was the overview of the Redmi 4 and its variants. However if your budget is a bit tight, you can still afford the Redmi 4A which still would prove efficient for you.
