Recently we had a Google even held in New Delhi in India where Google announced its next step in targeting the emerging mobile market in India: YouTube Go.
Now as we know that there’s a lot of competition going on between cellular companies and Android companies to provide the data and other necessities and each one of them promise ‘Internet at cheap rates’ and thanks to Jio for introducing 4G in India at a very low cost yet still many of the people still depend on 3G or 2G for their basic internet facilities.
Google has been focusing a lot for improving various aspects of the smartphone experience for these users, and a good part of this focus also extends to YouTube.
As we know that in the past, YouTube ha introduced the ‘Offline mode’ where a user could save his desired video in the phone and it was mostly used by those people who didn’t have a fast internet connection.
Also we had Smart Offline for YouTube where you could save your desired video at a particular time when the internet was cheap or more fast.
But now with YouTube Go, the YouTube experience has been re-imagined from the ground up to bring in the next generation of viewers.
Google says it is focusing on four concepts with YouTube Go: relatability, offline availability, cost-effectiveness and making videos a social experience.

“YouTube Go is a brand new app to help the next generation of users share and enjoy videos,” YouTube product management VP Johanna Wright says in a statement. “YouTube Go was designed and built from the ground up with insights from India, in order to bring the power of video to mobile users in a way that is more conscious of their data and connectivity, while still being locally relevant and social.”
Still we don’t know about when the app would be officially launched in India but let us wait because future this time is holding a lot for us with this app.
