Android 7.0 Nougat for OnePlus3 Via Unofficial CyanogenMod 14

While the OnePlus3 comes with a very smooth and user-friendly operating system, something unofficial was bound to happen. While the whole OnePlus team is busy in launching a stable official update, introducing Android 7.0 Nougat, the developers have already released a testing ROM which definitely is unofficial yet it gives a sneak peek into the features of the Android Nougat on OnePlus 3.




First of all for all the people who don’t know what CyanogenMod means, Good Morning! Here’s a brief intro for you.

CyanogenMod is an open source software for Android smartphones and tablets which provides such features that the original software can’t provide.




CyanogenMod also provides features like native theming, a large APN lists, open VPI clients, root access and even visual and some firmware tweaks.

So coming back to the topic, the unofficial CM14 rolled out for the OnePlus 3 has extracted some features from the older CM ROM which provides a good idea about the features of Android Nougat in OnePlus 3 but since this is an early WIP build, there are several major important features that are not working, which will make it difficult for people to adopt it as their prime daily driver.

Some important features that aren’t working are
CAMERA
ALERT SLIDER
CALL
DASH CHARGE

While some of the users like the features but many users have complained that the battery life has become exceptionally bad and many features don’t work. Even the local APK’s from the device’s memory don’t install, the themes crash and much more.

But talking about the pros, cheer up for you’ll get amazing features in this ROM and moreover, this ROM promises you to enable multifunction window in your OP3 and many features are still intact. The fingerprint sensor works pretty well. Booting, mobile data, Audio, GPS and other things work fine too.

But before all this and installing the new CyanogenMod for your OnePlus 3, please make sure that you’ve made a full backup of all the data you’ve stored in your phone.
